{"id":10349,"date":"2011-01-16T20:49:47","date_gmt":"2011-01-16T19:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/?p=10349"},"modified":"2011-01-17T08:42:17","modified_gmt":"2011-01-17T07:42:17","slug":"nr-13-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/2011\/01\/16\/nr-13-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"Nr 13 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Friska \u00f6gon siktar in sig p\u00e5 Kuiper-b\u00e4ltet<\/h2>\n<p>Pan-STARRS, akronym f\u00f6r <a href=\"http:\/\/pan-starrs.ifa.hawaii.edu\/public\/home.html\" target=\"_self\">Kuiper-b\u00e4ltesbevakaren The Panoramic Survey Telescope &amp;  Rapid Response System<\/a>. har funnit tio nya Kuiper Belt Object (KBO) &#8211; i storlekarna 300-500 km.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">KBO tillh\u00f6r v\u00e5rt planetsystems bortersta territorium, bortom Neptunus, och ses ibland som en sorts andra asteroidb\u00e4lte, \u00e4ven om kometb\u00e4lte\u00a0 kanske vore en riktigare ben\u00e4mning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">PS1-teleskopets fynd presenterades h\u00e4rom dan p\u00e5 ett m\u00f6te med American Astronomical Society av Smithsonian-astronomen Matthew Holman.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blue_PS1_dome748_narrow.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10353\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blue_PS1_dome748_narrow.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blue_PS1_dome748_narrow.jpg 747w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Blue_PS1_dome748_narrow-300x123.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Detta \u00e4r bara toppen av ett isberg av framtida uppt\u00e4ckter av Pan-STARRS, lovade Holman p\u00e5 en presskonferens.<\/p>\n<p>Pan-STARRS-1 \u00e4r placerat p\u00e5 det tysta vulkanberget Halekala, Hawaii, och kan se objekt s\u00e5 svaga som av 23 magnituden, och teleskopet f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas \u00e4ven\u00a0 h\u00e5lla \u00f6gat p\u00e5 n\u00e4ra jorden-objekt och, ja, dv\u00e4rgplaneter &#8220;typ&#8221; Pluto, Eris, Makemake och Haumea.<\/p>\n<p>Pan-STARRS-1 best\u00e5r av en 1,8 meters spegel &#8211; se bilden ovan &#8211; kopplad till v\u00e4rldens st\u00f6rsta digitalkamera, ett monster som kan bevaka en yta p\u00e5 himlavalvet stor som 36 fullm\u00e5nar. Bilden som resulterar \u00e4r p\u00e5 1 400 megapixel.<\/p>\n<p>Observatoriet p\u00e5 Hawaii\u00a0 drivs f\u00f6rst\u00e5s multinationellt.
