Kratern Linn\u00e9 ans\u00e5gs ju av<strong> Johann Friedrich Julius Schmidt<\/strong> ha visat drastiska f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar, vilket ganska snabbt avf\u00f6rdes som observationsfel.<\/p>\n<p>Kratern Cichus \u00e4r ett annat intressant fall liksom dubbelkratern Messier A och Messier B &#8211; <strong>Wilhelm Beer<\/strong> och <strong>Johann Heinrich M\u00e4dler (Beer und M\u00e4dler)<\/strong> s\u00e5g dem 1837 som runda, pr\u00e4sten och m\u00e5nobservat\u00f6ren<strong> T W Webb<\/strong> 1857 som fyrkantig respektive oval. I cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot var knuten st\u00f6rre delen av sitt forskarliv till Massachusetts  Institute of Technology, MIT, och det var 1977 &#8211; med hj\u00e4lp av det  flygburna <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kuiper Airborne Observatory<\/span> &#8211; som uppt\u00e4ckten skedde. Planet  fl\u00f6g \u00f6ver Indiska oceanen f\u00f6r att dokumentera en Uranus-ockultation av  en stj\u00e4rna, och \u00a0 Elliot var smart nog att s\u00e4tta ig\u00e5ng sitt instrument  en halv timma innan ockultationen. Han uppt\u00e4ckte d\u00e5 svaga  ljusf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar, vars r\u00e4tta natur Ellit snabbt ins\u00e5g: Att gasplaneten  omgavs &#8211; precis som Saturnus och Jupiter &#8211;\u00a0 av ett ringsystem.<\/p>\n<p>Samma ockultationsmetod anv\u00e4nde Elliot och hans forskarkolleger 1988,  d\u00e5 de kunde sl\u00e5 fast att Pluto har en atmosf\u00e4r.
