De har studerat molekyler fr\u00e5n tio moln med kol(mon)oxid 50 000 ljus\u00e5r bort fr\u00e5n solen och skapat den f\u00f6rsta &#8220;riktiga&#8221; bilden av den (\u00e4ven f\u00f6r rymdteleskop) sv\u00e5r\u00e5tkomliga bortre spiralarmen.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r en f\u00f6rn\u00e4mlig prestation som j\u00e4nkarna <strong>Thomas Dame <\/strong>och <strong>Patrick Thaddeus<\/strong> (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics) metodiskt och m\u00e5lmedvetet utf\u00f6rt, Ett av CO-molnen har en massa p\u00e5 kanske 50 000 solmassor och en utstr\u00e4ckning p\u00e5 150 ljus\u00e5r.
