Fr\u00e5n och med i dag g\u00e4ller resultaten fr\u00e5n en ny ESO-studie av aktiva svarta h\u00e5l i centrum av galaxer &#8211;\u00a0 de supertunga svarta h\u00e5l som aktiverats under de senaste 11 miljarder \u00e5ren har inte gjort det p g a\u00a0 galaxkollisioner, som man tidigare trott.<\/p>\n<p>I st\u00e4llet f\u00e5r vi s\u00f6ka efter processer\u00a0 inuti galaxer &#8220;typ&#8221; instabiliteter i galaxskivorna och utbrott av stj\u00e4rnbildning, och allts\u00e5\u00a0 inte fr\u00e5n galaxkollisioner.<\/p>\n<p>Max Panck-forskaren <strong>Alexis Finoguenov<\/strong>, som handlett det sp\u00e4nnande, flera \u00e5r utdragna arbetet med hj\u00e4lp av ESO:s j\u00e4tteteleskop VLT och ESA:s r\u00f6ntgenteleskop i rymden XMM-Newton, p\u00e5pekar:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Till och med i det avl\u00e4gsna f\u00f6rflutna, upp emot 11 miljarder \u00e5r sedan, s\u00e5 st\u00e5r galaxkollisioner bara f\u00f6r en liten andel av de mindre ljusstarka aktiva galaxerna. Vid denna tidpunkt f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas galaxerna ligga t\u00e4tare ihop och det f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas d\u00e4rmed ocks\u00e5 att sammanslagningar \u00e4r vanligare \u00e4n senare i universums historia, vilket g\u00f6r de nya resultaten \u00e4n mer \u00f6verraskande, s\u00e4ger han.<\/p>\n<p>Hela <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/sweden\/news\/eso1124\/\">pressmesset fr\u00e5n ESO<\/a> om teamet bakom, metodiken, teleskopen etc, har du h\u00e4r.<\/p>\n<p>Bilden ovan kommer fr\u00e5n det kanadensisk-franska Hawaii-teleskopet (CFHT) och f\u00e4ltet som visas kallas COSMOS.
