V\u00e5r gemensamma stolthet nere p\u00e5 holmarna, <a href=\"http:\/\/arxiv.org\/PS_cache\/arxiv\/pdf\/1106\/1106.5510v1.pdf\">The Nordic Optical Telescope, NOT, har bekr\u00e4ftat sin f\u00f6rsta exoplanet<\/a> &#8211; med katalogbeteckningen\u00a0 Kepler 14 b, en &#8220;hot Jupiter&#8221;-planet kring en F-stj\u00e4rna.<\/p>\n<p>Jag l\u00e4ste nyheten p\u00e5 helt andra, inomvetenskapliga sajter (se ovan), och uppt\u00e4ckten\u00a0 ligger \u00e4nnu inte ute som en stor nyhet p\u00e5 NOT:s egen hemsida. Detta \u00e4r faktiskt extremt d\u00e5ligt.<\/p>\n<p>Skit samma just nu. Planeten anses ha en massa 8,4 ggr Jupiters, perioden \u00e4r p\u00e5 6.8 jorddygn, och vi befinner oss i ett bin\u00e4rt system i vilket den andra stj\u00e4rnans varv ligger p\u00e5 2800 \u00e5r.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NOT-planeten&#8221; skiljer sig fr\u00e5n de flesta andra k\u00e4nda exoplaneter genom sin extrema densitet p\u00e5 \u00f6ver\u00a0 7 g\/kubik-cm.<\/p>\n<p>Rapporten \u00e4r en solid genomg\u00e5ng av data fr\u00e5n diverse rymdteleskoph\u00e5ll ocks\u00e5 med m\u00e4ngder av astronomer som medf\u00f6rfattare. H\u00e4r har ingenting l\u00e4mnats \u00e5t slumpen. Grattis, NOT! Den som (\u00f6ver)lever f\u00e5r se.<\/div>\n<div>Subaru-teleskopets huvudspegel p\u00e5 drygt 8 m\u00a0 skadades ju f\u00f6r en tid sen &#8211; se tidigare W-blogg &#8211; genom att kylsystemet pajade och l\u00e4ckte ner kylv\u00e4tska p\u00e5 spegeln, men restaureringen har tagit fart och spegeln r\u00e4ddats.<\/div>\n<div>S\u00e5 vi kan fram\u00f6ver r\u00e4kna med fler spektakul\u00e4ra Deepdeep Sky-uppt\u00e4cker fr\u00e5n v\u00e5ra japanska v\u00e4nner!<\/div>\n<div>Fort f\u00f6lj!<\/div>\n<div>PS.
