De finner att ungef\u00e4r 40 procent\u00a0 av stj\u00e4rnor som liknar solen har \u00e5tminstone en planet som \u00e4r l\u00e4ttare \u00e4n Saturnus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Det h\u00e4r \u00e4r det st\u00f6rsta antalet <\/strong>av den h\u00e4r typen av planeter som n\u00e5gonsin offentliggjorts p\u00e5 en och samma g\u00e5ng;\u00a0 de nya fynden presenteras p\u00e5 konferensen Extreme Solar Systems (Extrema solsystem) i Wyoming, USA, d\u00e4r 350 experter p\u00e5 exoplaneter m\u00f6ts den h\u00e4r veckan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Sk\u00f6rden av uppt\u00e4ckter fr\u00e5n HARPS har \u00f6vertr\u00e4ffat alla f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningar, s\u00e4ger <strong>Michel Mayor<\/strong> (som var med re\u00b4n 1996 n\u00e4r den f\u00f6rsta exoplaneten fastslogs)<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Under de \u00e5tta \u00e5r som har g\u00e5tt sedan HARPS<\/strong> b\u00f6rjade kartl\u00e4gga solliknande stj\u00e4rnor med radialhastighetsmetoden har instrumentet anv\u00e4nts f\u00f6r att uppt\u00e4cka fler \u00e4n 150 nya planeter. Av de exoplaneter med massor mindre \u00e4n Neptunus som vi k\u00e4nner till har ungef\u00e4r tv\u00e5 tredjedelar uppt\u00e4ckts av HARPS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* HARPS genomg\u00e5r uppgraderingar <\/strong>av b\u00e5de h\u00e5rd- och mjukvarusystem f\u00f6r att det ska n\u00e5 en ny niv\u00e5 av stabilitet och k\u00e4nslighet. Detta kr\u00e4vs f\u00f6r att instrumentet ska kunna leta efter stenplaneter med r\u00e4tt f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r liv.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Till en ny kartl\u00e4ggning har tio n\u00e4rbel\u00e4gna stj\u00e4rnor<\/strong> som liknar solen valts ut. Dessa stj\u00e4rnor, som redan tidigare observerats med HARPS, har valts ut f\u00f6r att de \u00e4r v\u00e4l l\u00e4mpade f\u00f6r extremt noggranna radialhastighetsm\u00e4tningar. Nu efter tv\u00e5 \u00e5rs arbete har astronomteamet uppt\u00e4ckt fem nya planeter med massor som \u00e4r mindre \u00e4n fem g\u00e5nger jordens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* En av de nyuppt\u00e4ckta planeterna, HD 85512 b<\/strong>, uppskattas ha en massa p\u00e5 bara 3,6 g\u00e5nger jordens. Dessutom befinner den sig p\u00e5 randen av den beboeliga zonen \u2013 det smala omr\u00e5det runt en stj\u00e4rna d\u00e4r vatten kan finnas i flytade form om f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningarna \u00e4r de r\u00e4tta.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Detektionen av HD 85512 b \u00e4r l\u00e5ngt \u00f6ver gr\u00e4nsen f\u00f6r vad HARPS kan uppt\u00e4cka. Den visar p\u00e5 m\u00f6jligheterna att uppt\u00e4cka andra superjordar i beboeliga zoner runt stj\u00e4rnor som liknar solen, till\u00e4gger Mayor.<\/p>\n<p>Forskningsresultaten g\u00f6r att astronomer nu k\u00e4nner sig s\u00e4kra p\u00e5 att de snart kommer att uppt\u00e4cka fler sm\u00e5, beboeliga stenplaneter runt stj\u00e4rnor som liknar v\u00e5r sol.
