Just nu \u00e4r det <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gemini.edu\/\">Gemini South-teleskopet i Chile som utmanar fantasin<\/a> genom en radikalt uppgraderad adaptiv optik. Resultat: Vi f\u00e5r rekord i vidvinkling och h\u00f6guppl\u00f6sning p\u00e5 en och samma g\u00e5ng.<\/p>\n<p>Redan fr\u00e5n b\u00f6rjan har Gemini-tvillingen i syd det bra f\u00f6rsp\u00e4nt genom sin 8-meters spegel. Men kopplad till den nya laserstyrda adaptiv optiken med fem konstgjorda stj\u00e4rno<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">r <\/span>till\u00e5ter tekniken astronomerna uppn\u00e5 &#8220;Hubble-kvalitet&#8221; fr\u00e5n jordytan.<\/p>\n<p>Systemet kallas <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gemini Multi-conjugate adaptive optics System (GeMS)<\/span>, och ska vi d\u00f6ma av de f\u00f6rsta bilderna av den kompakta stj\u00e4rnhopen NGC 288 lovar forts\u00e4ttningen bli n\u00e5got alldeles extra.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/fig1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25761\" title=\"Den nya tekniken till\u00e5ter rena &quot;kvantumspr\u00e5ng&quot; i bildanalysen av himlakroppar.
