Nu har galaxhopen detaljstuderats av ett internationellt forskarlag med hj\u00e4lp av bland annat ESO:s j\u00e4tteteleskop VLT i Chile och NASA:s rymdteleskop Chandra. Den best\u00e5r av tv\u00e5 mindre galaxhopar som h\u00e5ller p\u00e5 att kollidera med hastigheter p\u00e5 flera miljoner kilometer i timmen. Galaxhopen ligger s\u00e5 l\u00e5ngt bort att dess ljus har f\u00e4rdats i sju miljarder \u00e5r f\u00f6r att n\u00e5 jorden.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Denna hop \u00e4r den mest massiva, den hetaste, och den som avger mest r\u00f6ntgenstr\u00e5lning av alla hittills uppt\u00e4ckta galaxhopar vid det h\u00e4r avst\u00e5ndet eller bortom det, s\u00e4ger <strong>Felipe Menanteau<\/strong> vid Rutgers University i USA, som ledde studien.<\/p>\n<p>L\u00e4s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/sweden\/news\/eso1203\/\">hela pressmeddelandet och se bilder<\/a> p\u00e5 El Gordo h\u00e4r.<\/p>\n<h2>LOFAR p\u00e5 tapeten<\/h2>\n<p>\u00c4ven delvis svenska LOFAR har varit p\u00e5 tapeten borta i USA, p\u00e5 AAS.m\u00f6tet i Austin, Texas..<\/p>\n<p>Forskarna bakom det Internationella LOFAR-radioteleskopet &#8211; med Onsala rymdobservatorium som en knutpunkt &#8211; meddelade idag startskottet f\u00f6r projektets f\u00f6rsta kartl\u00e4ggning av hela himlen i radiov\u00e5gor med l\u00e5g frekvens.
