Foto: MIT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I fjor genomf\u00f6rde Messenger, som s\u00e4ndes upp 2004, sin tredje &#8220;flyby&#8221;, och \u00e4ven om det var tekniskt mankemang har vi f\u00e5tt massor av ny information om den himmelske budb\u00e4raren &#8211; inte minst hur m\u00e4rkligt och &#8220;spindelaktigt&#8221; vissa Merkurius-kratrar ser ut inuti.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e5nting som jag tycker \u00e4r mycket sp\u00e4nnande och som jag inte sett n\u00e5nting om i detalj p\u00e5 l\u00e4nge \u00e4r om Merkurius har &#8220;m\u00e5nar&#8221;. Till och med drabanter i storleksordningen 100 meter i diameter \u00e4r m\u00f6jliga att detektera genom Messenger, men s\u00e5 h\u00e4r l\u00e5ngt har inga\u00a0 p\u00e5tr\u00e4ffats. Mycket talar i st\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att Merkurius inte kan ha n\u00e5gra satelliter med tanke p\u00e5 n\u00e4rheten till solen.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e4lk\u00e4nda planetforskaren Maria T Zuber p\u00e5 MIT ing\u00e5r i\u00a0 teamet bakom\u00a0 Messenger, men n\u00e4sta \u00e5r chefar hon ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r NASA-projektet GRAIL, vars uppgift blir att utforska m\u00e5nen genom tv\u00e5 sonder som formationsflyger i tandem. 2007 var hon i Lund och g\u00e4stade 25-\u00e5rsfirande Crafoord-stiftelsen med\u00a0 ett jubileumsf\u00f6redrag om Mars.<\/p>\n<p>Maria T Zuber anses i dag vara en av USA:s femtio viktigaste kvinnor inom den naturvetenskapliga sf\u00e4ren och <a href=\"http:\/\/www-geodyn.mit.edu\/mtz.html\" target=\"_self\">har som m\u00e5nga toppforskare en bra egen hemsida<\/a> ocks\u00e5. Att hon ger sig tid!<\/p>\n<h2>Ingen ren p\u00e5 stj\u00e4rnhimlen<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4636\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4636\" style=\"width: 120px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/images.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4636\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/images.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"90\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4636\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fick ingen stj\u00e4rnbild...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Det unga &#8220;astronomi-Malm\u00f6&#8221; hade en stark supporter i C Luplau Janssen, den stridbare danske privatastronomen som var Lundmark-v\u00e4n, som ofta g\u00e4stade MARS och som tog emot\u00a0 vid sitt obsis Urania i K\u00f6penhamn.<\/p>\n<p>1946, i samband med 400-\u00e5rsjubileet av Tychos f\u00f6delse, skrev Luplau Janssen en liten bok med titeln <em>Stjernehimlens billedgalleti<\/em>, i vilken han ber\u00e4ttade om olika stj\u00e4rnkartor f\u00f6rr och nu. Bl a ber\u00e4ttade han om f\u00f6rs\u00f6ken att\u00a0 introducera nya stj\u00e4rnbilder, ett l\u00f6nl\u00f6st f\u00f6retag.
