Bildk&auml;lla: The Canberra Times\/Jeffrey Chan<\/cite><\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUnder rubriken &quot;I discovered a galaxy!&quot; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbase.com\/strongmanmike2002\/new_galaxy_discovered\">ber&auml;ttar Sidonio s&aring; h&auml;r p&aring; sin sajt:<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-family:courier new,courier,monospace;\">Well, it isn&rsquo;t every day that you discover something in astronomy, let alone a galaxy!<br \/>\n\tAs part of a professional team lead by <strong>Aaron J. Romanowsky<\/strong> and<strong> David Martinez-Delgardo, <\/strong>this is my first involvement in a scientific discovery and my first scientific paper too. The paper was accepted for publication in the Monthly Notices of The Royal Astronomical Society on Monday 21 Dec 2015.<br \/>\n\tThe galaxy, in this case a Dwarf Spheroidal, was first discovered in a deep image I did of NGC 253 using my Orion Optics UK AG12 a 12&quot; F3.8 corrected Newtonian. Som <strong>Plinius <\/strong><em>Naturalis Historia<\/em> (fast inte p&aring; latin utan i den engelska &ouml;vers&auml;ttningen, The Loeb Classical Library).\n\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tPlinius den &auml;ldre (23-79 e Kr) skriver om sin tids astronomiska v&auml;rldsbild och p&aring;pekar n&aring;got mycket djupsinnigt i samband med m&aring;nf&ouml;rm&ouml;rkelser: Han inser mycket v&auml;l att det &auml;r jordklotets&nbsp; konformiga skugga som syns &ouml;ver m&aring;nen.\n\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tHade denna konformiga skugga varit tillr&auml;ckligt l&aring;ng hade &auml;ven stj&auml;rnorna runt m&aring;nen f&ouml;rm&ouml;rkats.
