Vi befinner oss \u00f6ver \u00f6gruppen Aleuterna utanf\u00f6r Alaska, d\u00e4r det finns\u00a0 ett antal vulkaner (57) p\u00e5 \u00f6arna. H\u00e4r \u00e4r en hel klase av dem! Foto: ESA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Det tillh\u00f6r &#8220;konstanterna&#8221; i v\u00e5r astronomihistoria att Halleys komet har observerats l\u00e5ngt, l\u00e5ngt tillbaka i tiden. Kineserna kunde l\u00e4nge skryta med att de iakttagit kometen s\u00e5 tidigt som 240 f Kr, men nu kommer nya uppgifter fr\u00e5n tv\u00e5 forskare knutna till Brigham Young University i Utah, USA, som flyttar historien \u00e4nnu l\u00e4ngre tillbaka: Tre kometvarv tidigare.<\/p>\n<p>Med st\u00f6rsta sannolikhet sk\u00e5dade grekerna kometen redan 466 f Kr, d\u00e5 den syntes &#8211; v\u00e5r tider\u00e4kning &#8211; 4 juni-25 augusti och sannolikt ocks\u00e5 h\u00e4ngde samman med ett st\u00f6rre meteoritfall i norra Grekland (bl a omtalat av Aristoteles). Stenen\u00a0 var s\u00e5 stor att den lockade &#8220;turister&#8221; under n\u00e4stan femhundra \u00e5r.<\/p>\n<p>Kometens svans passerade precis som 1910 n\u00e4ra jorden, m\u00f6jligen under jorden, vilket orsakade ymnigt med meteorer den g\u00e5ngen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Daniel Graham och Eric Hintz heter forskarna, filosof respektive astronom,\u00a0 som lagt pussel och som ocks\u00e5 anser att Anaxagoras \u00e4r en or\u00e4ttvist bortgl\u00f6md gammalgrekisk astronom. Denne hade f\u00f6r tiden ovanligt klart f\u00f6r sig om planeters och kometers natur. ESA:s Giotto-sond gjorde ett spektakul\u00e4rt n\u00e4rbes\u00f6k 1986, men sen f\u00f6rsvann kometen ur v\u00e5r horisont p\u00f6 om p\u00f6 \u00a0 och snurrar nu i planetsystemets bakg\u00e5rd. Magnituden l\u00e4r ligga runt 28.\u00a0 Runt\u00a0 2024 v\u00e4nder kometen tillbaka ungef\u00e4r fr\u00e5n Plutos bana\u00a0 f\u00f6r att kunna\u00a0 ses vid v\u00e5ra\u00a0 civiliserade trakter runt 2060-61.<\/p>\n<h2>Herlins novag\u00e5ta 1919 mot sin l\u00f6sning<\/h2>\n<p>Kompisen p\u00e5 <em>Popul\u00e4r Astronomi<\/em>, v\u00e5r nova\/supernova-k\u00e4nnare Robert Cumming tipsar <a href=\"http:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/1009.3138\" target=\"_self\">om ny forskning kring Nova Aqulae 1919<\/a> (V605 Aql), vars novakarakt\u00e4r ifr\u00e5gasatts. Stj\u00e4rnan finn t ex inte med i Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkins gamla standardverk<em> The Galactic Novae<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Det verkar som om turerna kring stj\u00e4rnan duggat t\u00e4tt sedan Knut Lundmark spred nyheterna om Axel Corlins &#8220;inte-riktigt-uppt\u00e4ckt&#8221;, och det barkade \u00e5t att den var ingen riktig nova utan en sista heliumblixt innan PN-bildning. Men sedan 2008 har man m\u00e4tt upp kolhalten och den \u00e4r allt f\u00f6r l\u00e5g f\u00f6r den bilden. Nu ser den ut att kanske vara en s\u00e4rskild sorts nova, men det \u00e4r l\u00e5ngt ifr\u00e5n avgjort, ber\u00e4ttare Robert i ett mail.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; F\u00f6rfattarna konstaterar att vad \u00e4n det nu var som orsakade uppblossandet s\u00e5 m\u00e5ste det ha varit en s\u00e4llsynt sorts system: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;We only remark here on the fact that the actual number of binary channels that can lead to the observed characteristics and timescales of V605 Aql, is not very large.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Robert tipsar ocks\u00e5 om en bild p\u00e5 den planetariska nebulosan runt stj\u00e4rnan. Han specialitet var bl a den &#8220;genomtr\u00e4ngande kosmiska ultrastr\u00e5lningen&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2>Stj\u00e4rnor \u00e4ter upp varandra<\/h2>\n<p>Det \u00e4r en hemsk v\u00e4rld vi lever i. Detta \u00e4r en gammal r\u00f6d j\u00e4tte, som konsumerat en stj\u00e4rna eller st\u00f6rre planet.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns inga stj\u00e4rnskapande moln i n\u00e4rheten eller unga stj\u00e4rnor, och Chandra har dessutom uppt\u00e4ckt r\u00f6ntgenstr\u00e5lning som bara kan komma fr\u00e5n gamla, snabbt roterande r\u00f6da bj\u00e4ssar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vilken planet handlar det om?
