Fokus var p&aring; klassiska cepheider, 2 341 av dem fotograferades ett stort antal g&aring;nger l&auml;ngs hela Vintergatan vilket m&ouml;jliggjort noggranna avst&aring;ndsbest&auml;mningar b&aring;de i djup- och sidled.\n\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tSannolikt ligger tidvatteneffekter bakom det skruvade utseendet.&nbsp;Vintergatan interagerar med andra galaxer i den lokala hopen.
