{"id":83831,"date":"2020-04-24T17:14:27","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T16:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/?p=83831"},"modified":"2020-04-25T19:17:43","modified_gmt":"2020-04-25T18:17:43","slug":"nr-33-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/2020\/04\/24\/nr-33-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Nr 33 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M\u00e5nga astronomer har nominerats till nobelpriset i fysik<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just vid denna tid p\u00e5 \u00e5ret har ansvariga inom nobelkommitt\u00e9n f\u00f6r fysikpriset b\u00f6rjat fundera p\u00e5 l\u00e4mpliga kandidater, de vaskas fram lugnt och metodiskt. 31 jnuari st\u00e4ngdes m\u00f6jligheten f\u00f6r att nominera forskare&nbsp;till \u00e5rets pris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nobelprize.org\/nomination\/archive\/list.php\">Numera \u00e4r det m\u00f6jligt att fram till 1966<\/a> ta del av alla namn som nominerats. Och d\u00e5 h\u00f6r det till saken att m\u00e5nga astronomer genom \u00e5ren&nbsp;faktiskt har f\u00f6reslagits men v\u00e4ldigt f\u00e5 f\u00e5tt priset. Det b\u00f6rjade f\u00f6rsta \u00e5ret 1901 med att <strong>William W Campbells<\/strong> namn n\u00e4mndes, han var chef f\u00f6r Lick-observatoriet i Kalifornien, d\u00e5tidens st\u00f6rsta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr\u00e5n 1913 flera \u00e5r fram\u00e5t in p\u00e5 20-talet &#8211; sista g\u00e5ngen 1934 &#8211; nominerades solforskaren och observatoriebyggaren <strong>George Hale<\/strong>, men han fick aldrig priset.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/?attachment_id=83836\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-83836\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-83836\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image0191-300x240.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image0191-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image0191-200x160.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image0191.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>I \u00f6ver tjugo \u00e5r nominerades George&nbsp;E Hale till nobelpriset. Sista g\u00e5ngen 1934. 1938 avled han.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notabelt \u00e4r att <strong>Walter Adams <\/strong>nominerades 1920, samma \u00e5r som v\u00e5r lundaprofessor <strong>C V L Charlier<\/strong> f\u00f6reslog Albert Einstein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under 30-talet nominerades <strong>Ira Bowen, H N Russell, Arthur S Eddington, H C Urey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allra m\u00e4rkligast i mina \u00f6gon \u00e4r f\u00f6rslaget&nbsp;att den brittiske premi\u00e4rministern&nbsp;<strong>Neville &nbsp;Chamberlain<\/strong> skulle erh\u00e5lla fysikpriset 1940. Han var inte fysiker men f\u00f6rslagsst\u00e4llaren menade att hans insats f\u00f6r v\u00e4rldsfreden&nbsp;gjorde att det fredliga forskningssamh\u00e4llet kunde arbeta vidare. Men s\u00e5 blev det ju inte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/?attachment_id=83838\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-83838\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-83838\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/hqdefault1-300x225.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/hqdefault1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/hqdefault1-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/hqdefault1.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>En udda kandidat till fysikpriset -Sir Neville Chamberlain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notabla namn p\u00e5 40-talet \u00e4r <strong>George Gamow<\/strong>, som f\u00f6reslogs av <strong>Hannes Alvf\u00e9n, Bernard Lyot <\/strong>\u00e4r ett annat namn, och p\u00e5 50-talet hittar vi namn som <strong>Bengt Edl\u00e9n, Edwin Hubble, George Lemaitre, H D Babcock, Horace Babcock, Robert Oppenheimer<\/strong> &nbsp;m fl i rullorna &#8211; lundafysikern Edl\u00e9n&nbsp; f\u00f6reslogs&nbsp;ett \u00e5r&nbsp;av <strong>Harlow Shapley. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intressanta namn p\u00e5 60-talet \u00e4r <strong>Hendrik &#8220;Henk&#8221; van de Hulst, &nbsp;Jan Oort, James &nbsp;van Allen, Marten Ryle, Sir Bernard Lovell, Hannes Alfv\u00e9n, Maarten Schmidt <\/strong>&#8211; 1964 nominerade Urey den ber\u00f6mda kvartetten <strong>Margaret Burbidge, Geoffrey Burbidge, William Fowler, Fred Hoyle &#8211;<\/strong> n\u00e4rmare \u00e4n s\u00e5 kom aldrig Fred Hoyle priset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00f6r den historieintresserade \u00e4r det naturligtvis intressant att <strong>Elis Str\u00f6mgren, <\/strong>helsingborgaren som blev professor vid K\u00f6penhamns observatorium,&nbsp;&nbsp;f\u00f6reslogs till Nobels fredspris b\u00e5de 1920 och 1922, detta f\u00f6r sin insatser f\u00f6r att ena den astronomiska gemenskapen \u00f6ver hela v\u00e4rlden inklusive Tyskland. Bland de som pl\u00e4derade f\u00f6r Str\u00f6mgren var den socialdemokratiske politikern och ekonomen <strong>Ernst Wigforss.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M81 och M82 fr\u00e5n Lunds horisont<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nyvalde styrelseledamoten i ASTB <strong>Filip J\u00f6nsson<\/strong> lyckades h\u00e4rom kv\u00e4llen f\u00e5nga in M81 och M82&nbsp;p\u00e5 Lunds stj\u00e4rnhimmel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; &nbsp;F\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen jag jobbar med galaxer i editeringen s\u00e5 \u00e4r s\u00e4ker p\u00e5 att n\u00e4sta g\u00e5ng blir de \u00e4nnu skarpare.
