Forskarna tror att systemet kan ge viktiga ledtr\u00e5dar till hur planeter, inklusive de i v\u00e5rt eget solsystem, bildas och utvecklas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"ESO:s pressrelis finns h\u00e4r.\">ESO:s pressrelis finns h\u00e4r.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fem svenska astronomer knutna till Chalmers, Stockholms och Lunds universitet ing\u00e5r i teamet bakom uppt\u00e4ckten: <strong>Malcolm Fridlund<\/strong> och <strong>Carina Persson <\/strong>vid Chalmers tekniska h\u00f6gskola, G\u00f6teborg, <strong>Alexis Brandeker<\/strong> och <strong>G\u00f6ran Olofsson<\/strong> vid Stockholms observatorium och <strong>Melvyn Davies <\/strong>vid Lunds observatorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Systemet visade sig best\u00e5 av sex exoplaneter d\u00e4r alla utom den innersta \u00e4r l\u00e5sta i en rytmisk dans i sin r\u00f6relse kring moderstj\u00e4rnan, en s\u00e5 kallad resonans. Det inneb\u00e4r att deras r\u00f6relsem\u00f6nster upprepar sig med regelbundna intervall. En liknande resonans finns hos tre av Jupiters st\u00f6rsta satelliter: Io, Europa och Ganymedes. P\u00e5 samma tid som Io fullbordar fyra varv runt Jupiter, g\u00f6r Europa tv\u00e5 varv och Ganymedes ett. Dessa satelliter befinner sig allts\u00e5 i en 4:2:1-resonans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Artist\u2019s animation of the TOI-178 orbits and resonances (sound on!)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-WevvRG9ysY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>De fem yttre exoplaneterna i TOI-178-systemet \u00e4r l\u00e4nkade i en betydligt mer komplex <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/videos\/eso2102b\/\">resonanskedja<\/a>, en av de l\u00e4ngsta som hittills uppt\u00e4ckts i n\u00e5got planetsystem. De fem yttre planeterna detta system f\u00f6ljer en 18:9:6:4:3-resonans. N\u00e4r den innersta av dessa planeter (den andra fr\u00e5n stj\u00e4rnan) fullbordar 18 varv, g\u00f6r n\u00e4sta (den tredje fr\u00e5n stj\u00e4rnan) 9 varv och s\u00e5 vidare. Faktum \u00e4r att astronomerna f\u00f6rst bara kunde se fem planeter i hela systemet, men d\u00e5 de ins\u00e5g att de var bundna i resonans med varandra kunde de dra slutsatsen att det m\u00e5ste finnas ytterligare en planet.
