Vi ser den fr\u00e5n kanten vilket till stora delar d\u00f6ljer spiralstrukturerna. Galaxer \u00e4r ofta sm\u00e5 och ljussvaga fotografiska objekt sett fr\u00e5n oss. F\u00f6r att f\u00e5 bra bilder kr\u00e4vs d\u00e4rf\u00f6r helst optik med stor \u00f6ppning och l\u00e5ng br\u00e4nnvidd samt m\u00f6rk himmel.
