I skivans s\u00f6dra del finns en stoftf\u00e4lla, en cashewn\u00f6tsformad region d\u00e4r millimeterstora stoftkorn v\u00e4xer till kilometerstora objekt som kometer, sm\u00e5kroppar och potentiellt \u00e4ven planeter. Observationer som nyligen gjordes med Atacama Large Millimeter\/submillimeter Array (ALMA) detekterade ett flertal organiska molekyler i denna region, inklusive dimetyleter som \u00e4r den st\u00f6rsta molekyl som hittills uppt\u00e4ckts i en planetbildande skiva. Emissionen som indikerar f\u00f6rekomsten av dimetyleter (verkliga observationer i bl\u00e5tt) \u00e4r starkast i skivans stoftf\u00e4lla.
