Uppt\u00e4ckten av barium p\u00e5 h\u00f6ga altituder i atmosf\u00e4rerna p\u00e5 de ultraheta gasj\u00e4ttarna WASP-76 b och WASP-121 b var ov\u00e4ntad. Denna uppt\u00e4ckt reser m\u00e5nga fr\u00e5gor om hur dessa planeters exotiska atmosf\u00e4rer ser ut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESO:s pressrelis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/sweden\/news\/eso2213\/?lang\" title=\"\">\u00e5terfinns h\u00e4r.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backlund en av v\u00e5ra stora<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi saknar inte uppdrag inom Tycho Brahe-s\u00e4llskapets historiska gruppering. Jag hoppas att vi till v\u00e5ren kan arrangera en tr\u00e4ff uppe p\u00e5 TBO i Oxie med g\u00e4sterna <strong>Dan Behring<\/strong> och <strong>G\u00f6sta Backlund.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00f6r och ity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jag har varit med om m\u00e5nga m\u00e4rkligheter i samband med astronomi, min hobby,  och journalistik, min profession. N\u00e4r jag var kulturchef p\u00e5 Kv\u00e4llsposten hade jag som n\u00e4rmsta medarbetare en av Malm\u00f6pressens b\u00e4sta teaterkritiker: <strong>Bertil Behring<\/strong>. Hans morfar var ingen mindre \u00e4n <strong>C V L Charlier<\/strong> (1862-1934), lundaprofessorn, <strong>Knut Lundmarks <\/strong>f\u00f6reg\u00e5ngare p\u00e5 professorsstolen, Charlier som jag skrivit om h\u00e4r och var i W-bloggen genom \u00e5ren. Jag springer  d\u00e5 och d\u00e5 p\u00e5 Behrings barn, som inte bor s\u00e5 l\u00e5ngt ifr\u00e5n mig i Malm\u00f6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nu visar det sig att en annan gammal god KvP-kamrat, som efter sin KvP-sejour  blev chef f\u00f6r SVT:s Sydnytt, G\u00f6sta Backlund hade en  anfader vid det sp\u00e4nnande namnet &#8211; <strong>Oscar Backlund<\/strong>! (Somliga skriver Pulkova, jag f\u00f6redrar Pulkovo. Oscar med c eller k kan vara detsamma). Han blev s\u00e5 &#8220;ryssifierad&#8221; att han t o m begravdes i Pulkovo och var i sin levnad en storhet i diverse tsaristiska vetenskapsakademier. Bildk\u00e4lla: G\u00f6sta Backlunds privatsamling<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4ven Knut Lundmark <a href=\"https:\/\/sok.riksarkivet.se\/sbl\/Presentation.aspx?id=18960\" title=\"\">har skrivit om<\/a> Oscar Backlund och noterade:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Tr\u00e4ffande har det om hans direkt\u00f6rsverksamhet sagts, att hans underordnade astronomer observerade stj\u00e4rnorna och han observerade sina astronomer.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blyatomens v\u00e4g till neutronstj\u00e4rnan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e4r en stj\u00e4rna d\u00f6r kan det v\u00e5ldsamma slutet leda till att en neutronstj\u00e4rna f\u00f6ds. Neutronstj\u00e4rnor \u00e4r riktiga tungviktare i universum \u2013 en tesked av den flera kilometer stora himlakroppen skulle v\u00e4ga en miljard ton. Det \u00e4r en ofattbar storleksskillnad mellan atomk\u00e4rnan f\u00f6r isotopen bly-208 och en neutronstj\u00e4rna, men det \u00e4r till stora delar samma fysik som beskriver deras egenskaper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nu har forskare vid Chalmers tagit fram en ny ber\u00e4kningsmodell f\u00f6r att studera blyatomk\u00e4rnan. De 126 neutronerna (r\u00f6da) i atomk\u00e4rnan bildar ett yttre h\u00f6lje, vilket kan beskrivas som ett skinn. Hur tjockt skinnet \u00e4r h\u00e4nger ihop med den starka kraften. Nu har en bok kommit p\u00e5 engelska som handlar om Lenards attacker, och den boken recenseras i tidskriften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lenard var en politisk idiot men han fick i alla fall uppleva hur den &#8220;judisk fysiken&#8221; triumferade i och med atombomben. Han var skulden till att den tyska atombomben aldrig kom till skott, och det ska vi vara glada f\u00f6r. Tusentals tyska kunniga judiska vetenskapsm\u00e4n och tekniker f\u00f6rdrevs fr\u00e5n Tredje riket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e4r, inte om, ASTB g\u00f6r en v\u00e5rresa till den tyska huvudstan p\u00e5 temat  &#8220;Berlin i Einsteins fotsp\u00e5r&#8221; l\u00e4r vi inte undg\u00e5 att komma prata om denne bisarre Philipp Lenard (d\u00f6d 1947).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9781504681247.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9781504681247.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-91722\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9781504681247.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9781504681247-271x300.jpg 271w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Lenard m\u00e5ste ha varit med om n\u00e4r Einsteintornet i Potsdam rensades p\u00e5 allt inneh\u00e5ll som hade med Albert Einstein att g\u00f6ra. N\u00e4r bysten p\u00e5 Einstein f\u00f6rsvann (den finns numera p\u00e5 judiska museet i Berlin), lades d\u00e4r av &#8220;n\u00e5gon&#8221; en stenbumling p\u00e5 den tomma  bystens plats.
