Redan f\u00f6r fem decennier sedan r\u00e4knade Chalmersastronomen <strong>John Black <\/strong>ut att kolmolekylen CH3+ skulle kunna vara en f\u00f6reg\u00e5ngare till de mer komplexa molekyler som utg\u00f6r grunden till allt liv. P\u00e5 bilder tagna med teleskopet syns en ljuspunkt i kanten av en m\u00f6rk skiva av damm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Denna uppt\u00e4ckt \u00e4r s\u00e4rskilt sp\u00e4nnande f\u00f6r mig eftersom jag hj\u00e4lpte till att f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ga molekylens avg\u00f6rande roll i interstell\u00e4r kemi i b\u00f6rjan av 1970-talet. Det \u00e4r f\u00f6rst nu, genom den kombinerade kapaciteten hos James Webb-teleskopet i rymden och laboratorier p\u00e5 jorden, som den \u00e4ntligen kunde identifieras, s\u00e4ger John Black, professor emeritus i radioastronomi vid institutionen f\u00f6r rymd-, geo- och milj\u00f6vetenskap p\u00e5 Chalmers. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bakom uppt\u00e4ckten ligger ett stort forskarlag, lett av den franska astronomen <strong>Olivier Bern\u00e9,<\/strong> i vilket John Black ing\u00e5r. En del av tekniken i Miri \u00e4r utvecklad av svenska forskare vid bland annat Stockholms universitet och Chalmers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molekylen CH3+ best\u00e5r av en kolatom och tre v\u00e4teatomer.
