N\u00e4r jag surfade igenom <em>Nattmolnet<\/em>, SAAF-teamets sajt, hittade jag denna bild av en synnerligen sv\u00e5rf\u00e5ngad planetarisk nebulosa: Kronberger-1. Fotograf: Sven Eklund.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om jag l\u00e4st p\u00e5 r\u00e4tt har nebulosan en apparent storlek p\u00e5 0,7&#215;0,7 b\u00e5gminuter och har en visuell magnitud p\u00e5 n\u00e5nstans drygt 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hans Bengtsson<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/nattmolnet.saaf.se\/forums\/topic\/kronberger-1-wtt-ganska-ovanligt-objekt\/\" title=\"\">ber\u00e4ttar p\u00e5 Nattmolnet <\/a>att POSS (= Palomar-katalogerna) identifierade denna nebulosa i bl\u00e5tt s\u00e5 h\u00e4r i b\u00f6rjan av 1990-talet. F\u00f6r att skapa denna mycket detaljerade bild har galaxen observeratsi \u00f6ver 50 timmar med MUSE-instrumentet (Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer) p\u00e5 ESO:s Very Large Telescope (VLT). Genom att kartl\u00e4gga galaxen i tusentals olika f\u00e4rger eller v\u00e5gl\u00e4ngder kan astronomer f\u00e5 information om stj\u00e4rnorna, gasen och stoftet i galaxen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"nv-iframe-embed\"><iframe title=\"Astronomers capture galaxy in thousands of colours | ESO News\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eRIg_X4ufK0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Galaxer \u00e4r otroligt komplexa system som vi fortfarande k\u00e4mpar med att f\u00f6rst\u00e5\u201d, s\u00e4ger ESO-forskaren<strong> Enrico Congiu, <\/strong>som ledde en ny studie av Sculptorgalaxen, publicerad i <em>Astronomy &amp; Astrophysics.<\/em> Galaxer kan vara hundratusentals ljus\u00e5r i diameter och \u00e4r d\u00e4rmed extremt stora, men deras utveckling beror p\u00e5 vad som h\u00e4nder p\u00e5 mycket mindre skalor. \u201dSculptorgalaxen befinner sig i en perfekt position\u201d, s\u00e4ger Congiu. \u201dDen \u00e4r tillr\u00e4ckligt n\u00e4ra f\u00f6r att vi ska kunna uppl\u00f6sa dess interna struktur och studera dess byggstenar med otrolig detaljrikedom, men samtidigt tillr\u00e4ckligt stor f\u00f6r att vi fortfarande ska kunna f\u00e5 \u00f6verblick och se den som ett helt system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Och de planetariska nebulosorna?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I sin f\u00f6rsta analys av denna data uppt\u00e4ckte astronomerna cirka 500 planetariska nebulosor, regioner av gas och stoft som kastats ut fr\u00e5n d\u00f6ende solliknande stj\u00e4rnor. Medf\u00f6rfattaren <strong>Fabian Scheuermann,<\/strong> doktorand vid Heidelbergs universitet, ber\u00e4ttar att \u201dutanf\u00f6r v\u00e5rt galaktiska grannskap har vi vanligtvis f\u00e4rre \u00e4n 100 detektioner per galax\u201d vilket s\u00e4tter detta antal i ett st\u00f6rre sammanhang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e5 grund av de planetariska nebulosornas egenskaper kan de anv\u00e4ndas som avst\u00e5ndsmark\u00f6rer till sina v\u00e4rdgalaxer. \u201dAtt hitta de planetariska nebulosorna g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r oss att verifiera avst\u00e5ndet till galaxen \u2013 viktig information som de \u00f6vriga studierna av galaxen \u00e4r beroende av\u201d, s\u00e4ger <strong>Adam Leroy<\/strong>, professor vid Ohio State University i USA och medf\u00f6rfattare till studien.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sm\u00e5tt och stort i den planetariska nebulosav\u00e4rlden Jag blir ofta paff n\u00e4r jag ser hur duktiga amat\u00f6rastronomer \u00e5r.
