Hon r\u00f6r sig obehindrat mellan genrer och medier och har komponerat bland annat f\u00f6r New York Philharmonic, cellisten <strong>Yo-Yo Ma<\/strong>, Bang on a can All-Stars, <strong>Anne Sofie von Otter<\/strong>, str\u00e5kkvartetten Brooklyn Rider&nbsp; och f\u00f6r film och TV. Som s\u00e5ngerska medverkar Shaw i vokalgruppen \u201dRoomful of Teeth\u201d, och har turnerat med rapparen <strong>Kanye West<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/download.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"246\" height=\"205\" src=\"https:\/\/www.astb.se\/cassiopeiabloggen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/download.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-97764\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Bildk\u00e4lla: Kait Moreno\/carolineshaw.com<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los Angeles Philharmonic v\u00e4nde sig till Caroline Shaw med en best\u00e4llning av ett orkesterverk som skulle spelas p\u00e5 den legendariska utomhusscenen Hollywood Bowl sommaren 2021. Att musiken skulle klinga under bar himmel f\u00f6rde Shaws tankar till science fiction som ur ett kosmiskt perspektiv kan ber\u00e4tta om v\u00e5rt liv p\u00e5 jorden. Shaw gjorde ett bes\u00f6k p\u00e5 Griffith-observatoriet som ligger p\u00e5 en av kullarna ovanf\u00f6r Hollywood Bowl, och s\u00e5g d\u00e4rifr\u00e5n b\u00e5de ner p\u00e5 stadens myller och ut i den o\u00e4ndliga rymden som har f\u00f6rundrat och observerats sedan tidernas begynnelse. Efter de v\u00e4ldiga ackord som inleder&nbsp;<em>The Observatory&nbsp;<\/em>fylls himlavalvet av m\u00e5nga simultana skeenden. N\u00e5gra motiv som n\u00e4rmar sig och v\u00e4xer i styrka samsas med avl\u00e4gsna objekt som diminueras i en annan dimension. I de skiftande konstellationerna klingar ekon av <strong>Richard Strauss,&nbsp; J. S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, Jean Sibelius,<\/strong> och allra tydligast <strong>Beethovens<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>M\u00e5nskenssonaten<\/em>.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stycket \u00e4r p\u00e5 en kvart och finnsa p\u00e5 Spotify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Griffith Observatory tillh\u00f6r de ikoniska popul\u00e4robservatorierna med planetarium i Californien. H\u00e4r har spelats in filmer som <strong>James Dean<\/strong>-rullen Ung rebell p\u00e5 tidigt 50-tal, i filmen \u00e4ger en dramatisk bilkappl\u00f6pning aka chickenrace  rum.
