Gunnar var vid denna tid knuten till observatoriet i Saltsj\u00f6baden. Vi saxar ur Gustavs rapport:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&#8220;News of the 1946 outburst reached the Saltsj\u00f6baden astronomers on the evening of February<br>10, by way of a telegram from the Central Bureau of the International Astronomical<br>Union, then located in Copenhagen and tasked with rapidly disseminating information about<br>astronomical objects such as newly discovered comets and novae. The telegram stated that<br>Armin Deutsch of the Yerkes observatory had discovered an eruption of T CrB on February<br>9 at 08h30m UT. When the telegram arrived in Saltsj\u00f6baden the sky was overcast, but it<br>cleared on the morning of February 11: at 08h30m UT, Bertil Lindblad and Yngve \u00d6hman<br>managed to observe the object in daylight, some two hours after sunrise, with the visual<br>50-cm tube of the double refractor. <br>Now, an intense scrutiny of the recurrent nova began at the Stockholm Observatory. Spectra<br>were taken using the Zeiss spectrograph mounted on the 1-m Grubb Parsons reflector,<br>and perhaps most important for future studies of that object, the object\u2019s brightness was<br>observed, with both photographic and visual photometry done by Gunnar Larsson-Leander.<br>The photographic magnitudes were measured on plates using the observatory\u2019s Schilt photometer,<br>and visual observations were made by the Argelander method. Larsson-Leander had<br>started out as an amateur astronomer doing observations of variable stars before becoming<br>a professional astronomer and was thus trained in both visual and photographic photometric<br>methods. En del astronomer har profeterat om ett utbrott vilket \u00e5r som helst men just nu \u00e4r det lugnt. Ett fall r\u00f6r GDG-2 i Perseus, galaxen \u00e4r n\u00e4stan helt osynlig men har g\u00e5tt att f\u00e5 korn p\u00e5 genom n\u00e5gra ljusare klothopar.
